For almost 10 years the feeding center has served hundreds of children in one facility. We are so thankful for the facility and its location. In order to provide the best care and food for our children we think that improving the quality of the food we are serving is one key step to make that happen. We also realize that it was important to improve the facilities where we take care of our children.
We want to remodel our place so that when children come in they feel cared for and that they are in a good place where we want to feed them. Today we are so delighted to share with you that phase 1 of remodeling has been completed and the improvements are allowing us to better serve our children.
In the past due to the lack of a purified water system we were buying clean water from a water company. To become more self-reliant we decided to buy 10 water filters that will allows us to purify our own water and not rely on water shipments. In addition, we changed the outside look of the building and the countertop where we serve the food to our children.
We are so thankful for all of our faithful donors that have allowed us to make this step, but know there is still so much to improve in our facilities to continue serving our children in the best way we can. If you would like to help us continue improving our facilities, please make a donation below. You can make a big difference in our children’s futures by not only investing in their lives but also in the facilities where we serve them every day.
Our children love coming into the remodeled facilities. Many families have expressed their genuine gratitude for continuing to improve the assistance we are providing their children and for supporting the development of their lives and futures. Please consider giving a donation to continue to impact the futures of these children.
About us: Transforming Futures is an organization that is feeding 400 children every day in the biggest garbage dump located in Central America. A place where most people depend partially or completely on recycling materials and collecting food to survive in extreme poverty at the garbage dump. We are a 501c3 organization based in Fenton, Michigan. We were established in 2019 to transform the futures of children and adolescents living in poverty and vulnerable situations in Guatemala, by investing in their nutrition, education and personal development.
