Frequently Asked Questions

Transforming Futures is a Guatemalan nonprofit organization that empowers vulnerable young adults aging out of orphanages to thrive as independent, purpose-driven individuals. We provide education, spiritual support, mentorship, and life-skills training to help them successfully transition to adulthood.

In Guatemala, most teens in orphanages must leave when they turn 18. Without family or community support, many face poverty, unemployment, homelessness, addiction or exploitation. Transforming Futures bridges that gap, offering guidance, housing, and resources to help them build stable, independent lives.

We provide personalized mentoring, career and education planning, spiritual support, and financial literacy training. Each young adult receives an individualized development plan and ongoing support from trained staff.

We work with teens and young adults (typically ages 14–24) who grew up in Guatemalan orphanages. Most have no family network or financial support once they age out.

Our programs are based in Guatemala City, with partnerships across Guatemala. We also collaborate with local organizations and Global supporters to expand our impact.

At Transforming Futures, we focus on empowering young people as they transition into adulthood. Through weekly sessions at our training center, we equip them with the practical skills and confidence they need to live independently and create a brighter future.

You can support Transforming Futures by becoming a monthly partner, making a donation, or joining a Vision Trip to witness the impact firsthand. Every contribution directly supports the youth in our programs, as our board covers all operational costs. This means 100% of your donation goes toward empowering vulnerable teens.

Yes. Transforming Futures is a registered nonprofit (501(c)(3) in the U.S.) and your donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

A Vision Trip is an opportunity for supporters to visit Guatemala, meet the youth and staff, and see the transformation happening firsthand. It’s a life-changing experience that connects donors directly to the mission.

We collaborate with orphanages and youth care organizations to prepare teens for a successful transition into adulthood. Institutions can refer young people who are 14 years or older to apply to our program, where they’ll begin developing essential life and career skills.

Transforming Futures uplifts Guatemala’s most vulnerable youth: orphans who have been abused or abandoned and children who live in extreme poverty.
Transforming Futures, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2019, equips teenage orphans in Guatemala with job skills and emotional support as they transition out of orphanages. In addition, we provide daily meals to hundreds of children living around one of Guatemala City’s largest garbage dumps. Transforming Futures Guatemala is officially registered with the Superintendence of Banks of Guatemala and complies with all regulations to prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism, ensuring transparency and integrity in every aspect of our work.
