Investing in Guatemala’s Next Generation

Transforming Futures is dedicated to supporting orphaned and vulnerable teens in Guatemala, who face unique challenges without parental care or resources. At risk of delays, trauma, and unpreparedness for adulthood, these teens need guidance and opportunity. Through life skills training, education, and residential support, we equip them to overcome obstacles and step into independent, purposeful lives.

Why orphans

Inspired by Scripture, Driven by Change.

Rooted in our Christian foundation and inspired by James 1:27, which calls us to care for orphans and widows in their distress, Transforming Futures is committed to more than meeting immediate needs. We strive to create lasting, transformative impact, empowering vulnerable teens in ways that ripple through families and communities, building hope and sustainable change for generations to come.

Meet the TEENS

More Than a Meal:
Real Families. Real Impact.

Without the Feeding Center,
my daughters wouldn’t have lunch. Because of it, they’ve been able to eat every day and focus on school.

Andrea, her husband, and their three daughters have lived in the Guatemala City Garbage Dump for 10 years. Her husband works from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the garbage dump, while she is unable to work due to an injury. Living on one income, Andrea and her husband cook breakfast and dinner for their children, and Transforming Futures’ Feeding Center has provided lunch every day for the past seven years. Without the Feeding Center, “my daughters wouldn’t have lunch,” Andrea says. “Thanks to the Feding Center, my daughters have been able to eat every day, and it has allowed them to focus on school.”

The Feeding Center is a blessing. Our income changes every day. I don’t know what I’d do if it wasn’t there to make sure my family eats.

Blanca is a single mother who takes care of her four children, two grandchildren, and three other children. She has worked in the garbage dump ever since she was seven years old, collecting food and recyclable materials. Selling the materials, she makes about $20 every fifteen days. “[The Feeding Center] has been so much help because our incomes vary a lot from one day to another,” she says. “It has been a blessing for our children. I have had so many difficulties that I don’t know what I would do if the Feeding Center wasn’t there making sure my family eats every day.

Transforming Futures uplifts Guatemala’s most vulnerable youth: orphans who have been abused or abandoned and children who live in extreme poverty.
Transforming Futures, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2019, equips teenage orphans in Guatemala with job skills and emotional support as they transition out of orphanages. In addition, we provide daily meals to hundreds of children living around one of Guatemala City’s largest garbage dumps. Transforming Futures Guatemala is officially registered with the Superintendence of Banks of Guatemala and complies with all regulations to prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism, ensuring transparency and integrity in every aspect of our work.
