Transforming Futures is now mentoring 22 teenagers through our orphan transition program—Thinking Outside the Box—which we launched earlier this year.
Get to know two of the teens, Gabriela and William, who are participating in the three-year program. We’re already making a huge difference in their lives!
Gabriela, 16
In her first year with Transforming Futures, Gabriela has already learned so much. “I’ve learned such small things, like how to change a light bulb, and also reflected to learn more about myself,” she says.
Her goal is to have a stable and professional job in the next five years, ideally related to her passions: law and beauty.
Through the Thinking Outside the Box program, “I am preparing myself for an independent life,” she says.
William, 15
Thanks to Transforming Futures, William says he is now on the right path to reach his goals.
He wants to study photography and marketing, and in the next five years, he hopes to have a job in these fields.
“I am grateful that Transforming Futures is part of my path toward independence, which will lead to a better future for me,” he says.
